Peranso 3 is the leading light curve and period analysis software in astronomy. It offers a complete set of powerful analysis functions to work with large, multi-night astronomical data sets, collected by a variety of observers. It is equally effective for the individual observer, who wants to analyze his observations of one or more nights.

Substantial attention has been given to ease-of-use and data accuracy, making Peranso the most productive period or time series analysis software on the market. Peranso lets you take control of your data analysis. Forget intimidating manuals and complex commands - powerful light curve and period analysis capabilities are now within your reach. For all of the above challenges, and many more, you will find a fully worked out Tutorial in the new
Peranso 3 User Guide. Item marked with an asterisk will soon be supported.
Next Peranso releases will see the addition of several new capabilities, summarized below.
Save Observations Windows, Period Windows and Phase Windows contents to a .png file
Save to PNG file
Event data periodogram
Novel period analysis method which computes a periodogram directly from the time of arrival of events (e.g., pulsar pulses)
Check the Revision history to see how Peranso has
been actively extended and
maintained since its origin
in 2004.
Peranso is extensively checked against viruses prior to every release. We assure it's 100% safe.

Some anti-virus software packages incorrectly report that Peranso is infected with a virus. Contact us if that's the case with your anti-virus scanner. We will help you to unblock Peranso on your local PC. We will also contact the producer of your anti-virus software to get Peranso cleared for their future releases. More information is provided in the User Guide.
Peranso 3 can pull TESS observations directly from the TESS website ('direct plot'). Nicely illustrated in our newest tutorial.
TESS Viewer
DASCH support
Import of DASCH files and ability to reject observa-tions based on AFLAGS and QFLAGS settings. More information in the new DASCH Tutorial.
We hosted a first Peranso 3 webinar on Jan 23rd, 2021, broadcasted live through a Zoom meeting. The recording of this webinar is available here, and you will find the accompanying Powerpoint slides here as a PDF file. Interesting time markers in the webinar: Short history of Peranso (03m30s), analysis of eclipsing binary NGCA-V16 (10m06s), Finding multi-periodicities (23m05s), Detecting long term period evolutions (50m39s), What's next in Peranso 3 (1h11m15s).

Contact us if you are a member of an astronomical society and want us to host a live webinar to showcase Peranso 3 features and/or perform a live period analysis.
Outliers auto removal
Auto-detect and de-activate outlier observations using the Lightcurve Workbench tool. More info here.
LOWESS fit & detrend
Smoothen and detrend light curves using the LOWESS (locally-weighted scatterplot smoothing) method. More info here.
Directly plot Internet light curves of AAVSO, ASAS, ASAS-SN, Catalina Surveys DR2, Gaia, Hipparcos, Kepler, Kepler K2, NSVS, Pan-STARRS1 DR2, Sky Mapper DR2, SuperWASP, TESS and ZTF surveys.

Starting with Peranso 3.0.3.1, we have modified the Peranso license protection mechanism to drastically reduce the number of Anti-Virus packages that erroneously flag Peranso as containing a virus or malware. As a consequence, existing Peranso 3.x users upgrading to 3.0.3.1 (or later versions) will have to apply one time for a new (free of charge) Registration Key. More information is provided here.
