Comet C/2002 C1 Ikeya-Zhang (March 2002) 


C/2002 C1 Ikeya-Zhang on Mar 18, 2002. 
The image is a mosaic composition of 5 x 5 exposures, each 20 sec.
Instrument : 0.35-m f/6.3 SCT with unfiltered SBIG ST-7 CCD.
Sky conditions were excellent : the comet was only about 20 degrees 
above horizon at the moment of image capturing.
Software used for image processing & mosaic composition : MaxIm DL/CCD

Comet 51P/Harrington (December 2001) - Split !

Comet 51P/Harrington on 2001, December 08.9 UT
Image taken with 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and unfiltered SBIG ST-7 CCD. Composite of 6 exposures of 90 sec each. The comet is the object in the center of the circle and was about mag 16-17. It was reported to have split on Dec 6.1 UT (IAUC 7769). One can easily recognise the two components, about 10" apart  (North is to the bottom).
